Support Workers

Job Title: Support Worker

Job Type: Full /Part Time Hours

Location: Welwyn Garden City

Salary Details: £9.64 – £9.81 per hour

We have exciting opportunities for Support Workers to come and work for a local Charity in Welwyn Garden City. We have been empowering adults and children with learning disabilities to live their lives, their way for 43 years in and around the local community.

We have a diverse range of services which are located in close proximity to each other. Each service is unique in the fact that they all support individuals with a variety of additional needs. As a Charity we are looking for the very best support workers for our service users – you will need to be passionate, empathetic and motivated to share our values and behaviours. This role is very rewarding however it will be challenging too,  you will need to be resilient, up for a challenge and come from an experienced support worker background.

 Senior Support Worker

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Support Worker to come and work for a local Charity based in Welwyn Garden City. We have been empowering adults and children with learning disabilities to live their lives, their way for 43 years in and around the local community.

The Senior Support Worker will be responsible for leading our team of support workers in our 6 bedded adult residential home, the service users who live there are profoundly disabled. You will ensure that excellent services are delivered to each of our service users and will have had previous experience of leading and supporting a team in a similar role. As this is an integral role, as a Senior Support Worker you are expected to provide support, 1 to 1’s and to mentor support workers within the service to provide the best outcomes for our service users.

Your key responsibilities as a Senior Support Worker are:

  • To provide support to the Registered Manager and Project Leader
  • To ensure the delivery of person centered support to our service users at all times
  • To promote our service users independence ensuring they live happy and fulfilled lives  
  • Maintaining and continuously improving the standards of health, safety and the Charity’s policies and procedures within the service
  • Be a role model, sharing our values and behaviours
  • Communicate effectively with all staff, families and healthcare professionals
  • Inspire your team and motivate them to be their best each and every day
