Sue joined the Board in August 2024. She has many years of experience in health and social care, including working as Operations Director for Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, and Autism at Hertfordshire County Council.

Sue originally qualified as a Registered Nurse in Learning Disabilities, which inspired her continue pursuing a career with a deep commitment to supporting vulnerable people. After holding several key management roles in the NHS, Sue joined the Council in 1991 to lead a specialist service for those with a dual diagnosis of learning disabilities and mental health needs. She has since dedicated herself to improving the lives of disabled adults and young people, always striving to ensure they live healthy, independent, and fulfilling lives within their communities. Sue is also passionate about safeguarding and has been a driving force behind Hertfordshire’s Transforming Care Programme.
